An overview of flight types
Flight types determine how the material to be conveyed is picked up, transported, and discharged. That is why Branscheid offers a wide variety of different flight types for single-strand chains — tailored to the material being conveyed, the system design, and the operating conditions. Whether bulk materials, chips, biomass, or other materials: Each design is engineered for maximum conveying capacity, low wear, and reliable operation.
Flight type T-form

Single-strand chains
Drop-forged link chains, as single-strand chains, are supplied in pitch sizes ranging from 102 to 315 mm and are always customized, client-specific solutions. The drop-forged links used are forged in-house at the Branscheid Umformtechnik GmbH & Co. KG facility in Gevelsberg.
In addition to short and cost-effective transport routes, our drop-forged links stand out for their exceptional material properties. Thanks to the drop-forged steel and the optimal utilization of the grain flow, the drop-forged links achieve very high tensile strength and are exceptionally robust.

Your path to the ideal conveyor chain system
To optimize the welded joint between the drop-forged link and the driver, we use a flash butt welding machine with an integrated deburring device. The flash butt welding process is a computer-controlled welding process with parameter logging. This eliminates any adverse effects on the chain link caused by uneven preheating. The result is a homogeneous material structure and a seamless bond between the drop-forged links and the driver. We also utilize autogenous and inert gas welding techniques. For use in particularly abrasive environments and to ensure a long service life, we reinforce our chain links with high-hardness armor wire.
To ensure smooth operation, we also supply sprockets for conveyor chains.
